Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how RacoonLabs ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in PDF Scanner: Scan to PDF (the "App").
1. Local Document Storage
The App is designed to scan documents, import images, create PDF files, and recognize text using OCR. Scanned documents, imported images, generated PDFs, thumbnails, and OCR text are stored locally on your device by default.
We do not operate a cloud storage service for your documents. Your documents are not uploaded to our own servers. Documents leave your device only when you choose to share, export, or send them using Android sharing features or another app.
2. Information Processed by the App
The App may process the following information on your device:
- Images you scan or select from your device.
- PDF files generated from scans or imported images.
- OCR text extracted from saved page images.
- Local document metadata such as title, page count, file size, and creation date.
- App usage state such as onboarding completion, OCR limits, and export counters.
3. Analytics, Crash Reporting, Remote Config, and Messaging
The App may use Firebase services provided by Google, including Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, and Firebase Cloud Messaging. These services may collect app diagnostics, crash reports, device information, app usage events, identifiers, and technical logs to help us understand app performance, fix crashes, configure features, and send notifications if you choose to enable them.
Notification permission is requested only after you choose to enable notifications in the App settings.
4. Advertising and Consent
The App may show ads to free users. We use Appodeal and advertising partners such as Google AdMob. Advertising SDKs may process device information, Advertising ID, approximate location, interaction data, diagnostics, and consent choices to provide, measure, and improve ads.
Premium users should not see ads while their Premium status is active. Where required by law or platform policy, the App may ask for your ad consent before initializing advertising features.
5. Purchases and Subscriptions
The App may offer Premium purchases or subscriptions. Payments are processed by Google Play. We use RevenueCat to manage purchase status and Premium entitlement. RevenueCat and Google Play may process purchase identifiers, subscription status, transaction information, device information, and related technical data.
We do not receive your full payment card number or payment credentials.
6. Sharing Documents
If you share a PDF or extracted text, the selected content is passed to the Android share sheet and then to the app or service you choose. That third party's privacy practices apply to the shared content.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Documents and OCR text stored by the App remain on your device until you delete them in the App, use the "Delete All Documents" option, clear app data, or uninstall the App.
Analytics, crash, advertising, and purchase-related data handled by third-party providers may be retained according to their own policies and legal obligations.
8. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Third-Party Services
The App may use services from:
- Google Firebase
- Google AdMob
- Appodeal
- RevenueCat
- Google Play Billing
- Google ML Kit / Google Play services document scanner and text recognition
These providers may process information under their own privacy policies and terms.
10. International Processing
Third-party providers may process information in countries other than your country of residence. Data protection laws may differ by country.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
